Christmas Eve! All dressed up...

I love what Mia and Alli are doing with their feet in this picture! I think Allison is saying, 'can you believe my mommy and daddy made me wear my socks pulled up like this?!". In our defense, it was VERY cold outside... Auntie Katie, or "Moomba" as we like to call her, and I took Mia and Allison to church while the rest of the Days endured sub zero temps on the ski trails. The neatest part for me was reintroducing these two grown up little babies to Pastor Steve who hadn't seen them since he met them in the NICU when they still weighed in around the 2 lb mark. It took him a little while to believe these big girls in fancy dresses were the same two he had met back then. The girls were so good through the service, despite being pretty tired. I think they liked the music (especially 'Silent Night' sung by candlelight -my favorite!!!) and the loving snuggles from two self-declared wannabe grandmas (Thanks Sue and Diane!)

Then it was home for dinner, reindeer jammies and a bedtime reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas". The skiers made it home, complete with one frozen thumb, just in time to give 'night night' hugs.Grandpa with his team of tiny reindeer!

Thanks Maytag...

Thanks, Maytag, for building a dishwasher that can tolerate a couple of curious little girls!

Snow suits... A Christmas Story

When I dressed the girls in their warm fleecy snowsuits, only one thing came to mind... the reaction Ralphie's "old man" had upon seeing his son in Aunt Clara's bunny suit.
Mr. Parker: He looks like a deranged Easter Bunny.
Mother: He does not!
Mr. Parker: He does too, he looks like a pink nightmare!
Based on their expressions, I think Mia and Alli sympathize with Ralphie!

All about George...

How appropriate that our little monkeys' first best friends also be monkeys! Ever since the new 'friends' arrived at our house (Thanks, St. Nick!!!) the twin Curious Georges have been Mia and Alli's main attraction. Just the sight of him brings on an instant snuggle fest. George is the last thing they want to nuzzle when they go to bed and when Shawn and I first hear they're awake in the morning, we walk in their room and find them snuggling, hugging and kissing their Georges. Shawn commented we'd better have some back-ups on hand for when they wear these out! (Rumor has it there is spare pair in Madison!)

Squeals...

Don't hurt your neck trying to watch this. I forgot that I can't flip the videos upright... Allison has really turned into a giggler! I'm still trying to catch her post-bath displays of laughter on camera- so funny. Until I do, here is a squeally moment with Dad.

Mount Sofa Cushion...

Mia and Allison seem to love mountain climbing as much as the rest of us. This was just one of many treks up Mt. Sofa!
